On February 23, 1999, Eminem’s The Slim Shady LP was released under Interscope Records and Aftermath Entertainment. “My Name Is” launched Eminem into superstardom and became one of his most popular songs.The Slim Shady LP introduced Eminem’s alter-ego, Slim Shady. “My Name Is” is written entirely from Slim Shady’s perspective, hence the violent lyrics and brutal connotations of the song.

“Hear Me” is perhaps one of A$AP Rocky’s most underrated tracks. Since it was only released on SoundCloud and initially on OVO Sound Radio, the song did not gain as much momentum outside the A$AP Mob fan base. Although Pharrell Williams is listed as a feature on the track, he has no verses whatsoever and just some minor background vocals on the hook.
